Last month I shared the news that we had been chosen as one of this year's Center Parcs Family Bloggers and now I have even more good news! By taking part in one of the Center Parcs monthly challenges, you could be joining us and winning a family break at a Center Parcs location of your choice.
This month's Center Parcs challenge is all about appreciating nature and the changing seasons around us by writing a poem about autumn.
Whinfell Forest’s resident nature expert and Conservation Ranger, Emma Tapp has several tips about how to create your lyrical competition entry, we liked her suggestion to "Have fun - Your poem doesn’t have to be a literary masterpiece, as you’re all having fun and enjoying yourselves that’s the main thing."
With Theo unable to offer much more than "tractor" and "cake" by way of contribution to our poem and Jim pleading for creative clemency, it was left to me to put a few lines together as our example, so here we go...
When summer leaves turn to golden brown
And evening comes after the sun's gone down
As the smell of open fires fills the air
And the bangs of fireworks catch you unaware
Listen for the pheasants cackling in the woods
Fasten your jackets and raise your hoods
The season of bonfires and brisk winds is here
So let's welcome autumn with some seasonal cheer!
Hopefully that should inspire you to do better!? If you'd like to enter, details of how to are here and the challenge closes on December 29th.
